A Great Granola

Serve with a dollop of jam, a generous serving of natural yoghurt and some fresh fruit

Our truly great granola - definitely one to try to make and enjoy over the weekend!⁠ A must in everyone's pantry.

  • 350g local runny honey⁠
  • 225g Nut oil or grapeseed oil⁠
  • 670g oat flakes⁠
  • 200g wheat flakes (optional)⁠
  • 100g rye flakes (optional)⁠
  • 150g raisins or sultanas⁠
  • 150g peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds or cashew nuts split and roasted⁠
  • 70g wheatgerm and /or millet flakes⁠
  • 50g chopped apricots, (1/2 cup chopped dates etc. are nice too toasted sunflower or pumpkin seeds are also delicious)⁠


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.⁠
  2. Mix oil and honey together in a saucepan, heat just enough to melt the honey. ⁠
  3. Mix well into the mixed flakes. ⁠
  4. Spread thick⁠
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, turning frequently, making sure the edges don't burn. It should be just golden⁠
  6. Allow to get cold. ⁠
  7. Mix in the raisins or sultanas, roasted nuts, toasted seeds, chopped dates, apricots and wheatgerm. ⁠
  8. Store in large sealed jar.⁠
