Orange and Walnut Treats

Ideal treat after playing sport!

Such a great snack for packed lunches or after a class.

  • 454g Oats
  • 50g Walnut pieces
  • 225g Olive Spread
  • 4 tbsp Golden Syrup
  • 50g Caster sugar
  • 1 Finely grated zest of large orange
  • 3 tbsp Folláin ‘No Added Sugar’ Marmalade


  1. Heat oven to 180 deg C, 160 deg C fan oven, Gas 4.
  2. Grease with oil a 12”x 7”/28 x 18 cm shallow baking tin.
  3. Melt olive spread, sugar and syrup over medium heat, stirring all the time.
  4. Take off heat and stir in oats, walnut and orange zest.
  5. Mix should be soft.
  6. Tip into tin and level off.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until edges are golden brown but centre soft.
  8. Remove from oven and mark into 24 pieces, while still warm.
  9. Heat some olive spread with 1 tbsp of water until it becomes syrupy.
  10. Brush this glaze over the flapjack mix and leave it to cool.
  11. These freeze well and can be taken out when needed.
