Caramel with Irish Cream Liqueur

Ingredients

  • Porridge Base
  • 50-60g of Rolled Oats/Jumbo Oats
  • 300-350ml Water or Milk of choice
  • Varient 1: additional ingredients Bananas, Dark Chocolate drops, Mixed seeds (linseed, flaxseed, hempseed), Shaved Coconut, Greek style yoghurt, Folláin Irish cream liqueur caramel , Folláin nothing but fruit Raspberry jam
  • Varient 2: additional ingredients Dark Chocolate drops, Chia seeds, Folláin traditional Lemon curd
  • Varient 3: additional ingredients Blackberries, Blueberries, Black sesame seeds, flaked almonds, Folláin nothing but fruit Blueberry & Raspberry jam

Method

  1. Hob
    Add oats and milk or water to the pan and bring to the boil and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring from time to time until desired texture achieved.
    Be careful not to let the porridge stick to the bottom of the pan.
  2. Microwave.
    Mix the porridge oats, milk or water and a pinch of salt in a large microwave proof bowl, then microwave on High for 5 minutes or until visibly thick.
    Depending on the size of bowl used, this method can overflow easily. To avoid this, stir very often or use a very wide mixing bowl.
  3. Variants
    Mixed seed porridge with caramelised bananas, raspberry and chocolate drops.
    Product(s): Caramel + NBF Raspberry
    Add a tsp of mixed seeds (linseed, hemp seeds, flaxseeds) to porridge recipe and cook as above.
    Sear sliced bananas on a non stick pan for 30 seconds on a high heat. Add a tbsp of Folláin Caramel to the hot pan and burn slightly, turn off.
    In a bowl, add cooked seeded porridge, top with a tbsp of Folláin NBF Raspberry, caramel bananas and chocolate drops!
    Optional: Nutshed crunchy peanut butter, shaved coconut, greek yoghurt.
  4. Almond milk porridge with Lemon Curd, Yogurt and Raspberries.

    Above porridge recipe with almond milk. Heat 2 tbsp of lemon curd in a pan until melted. Top porridge with raspberries whole or crushed,
    a spoon of greek style yoghurt and a generous drizzle of lemon curd.
    Optional: Shaved dark chocolate, chia seeds.
  5. Black and Blue Berry Porridge with flaked almonds and nut-butter.
    Product(s): NBF Blueberry and Raspberry + Crunchy Peanut Butter
    To the cooked porridge add a tbsp of Folláin Blueberry and Raspberry Jam and stir well. Pour into a bowl, top with a spoon of nutshed crunchy peanut butter,
    blueberries, blackberries and flaked almonds. Add some extra milk if desired and black sesame seeds for some extra extra crunch!
