French Toast with Jam

A weekend breakfast treat

This French toast with an Irish twist. Serve with your favorite Folláin jam or marmalade. It is just heavenly!

  • 2 thick slices Good quality bread
  • 2 Eggs (whisked)
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • Splash Milk
  • Grated Nutmeg (if available)
  • 1 tbsp Butter (for frying)
  • To serve Folláin Jam of your choice


  1. Whisk the eggs and sugar together in a bowl that is large and flat enough to accommodate the bread. Add the milk and nutmeg (if using), the mixture should be runny.
  2. Dip the bread in the egg mixture on both sides and press it down into the egg to soak it up.
  3. Heat the butter in the pan until it is foaming.
  4. Fry the bread slices on both sides until golden and puffy. Serve drizzled with lots of your favourite Folláin Jam.
